Text Cleanup Utilities

Sometimes a clip copied from one program is not suitable for pasting into another. If you copy text from an HTML editor, it will contain all the HTML formatting. Many email programs indent quoted text with chevrons and many .PDF files have fixed line lengths.

Spartan provides two methods of cleaning up unwanted text formatting. For "one off" jobs, there is a set of cleanup buttons available in the text editor and for regular jobs, you can preset the cleanup operations you want done each time you paste with the "Txt" button.

Using the text editor.

Right click on the clip and select "Edit"

Then use the cleanup buttons in the text editor.

Using the Txt button

All the text cleanup options shown above can also be performed automatically during the paste process. To set up the processing you need, open the View Options dialog from the View menu....

Check the Unformatted Text Buttons item and click the Txt Button Options button.

Select the processing that you would like carried out when text is pasted via the Txt button.

Now, when you copy a clip like the one shown above in the text editor, you can have it word wrapped automatically simply by clicking the Txt button to paste it instead of the clip name.

For example, this is the clip pasted into Notepad by clicking the clip name:

And this is it pasted by clicking the Txt button:
