Performance considerations

If you run Spartan from the hard disk of a modern PC, its impact on your PC's performance will be minimal. There are, however, a few considerations if you run it from a flash drive or with an older slowish processor or if you copy files across a network. If you find a degradation in performance with Spartan running, these options can help.

1. You can reduce the time taken to capture clips by up to two thirds by turning off clipboard history recording from the tools menu.

2. You can reduce the time taken to delete clips by turning off recycling from the tools menu.

3. If you regularly copy files across a network, this option can slow network traffic.

4. You can save disk space on portable drives by turning off the clipboard history and recycling. If you only take your flash drive version with you to be able to use clips you already have, you can also turn off clip capturing from the Tools menu.

5. You can reduce the backing up time (and required disk space) by clearing the Clipboard History and Deleted Clips groups before backing up.
