Hot Key Clips (Not available in Windows Versions prior to XP)

You can allocate clips to hot keys and paste them directly from the keyboard without displaying the main program window.

To set up your hot key clips, choose "Hot Key Clips" from the View menu or type Ctrl + H.

You can drag clips from the clipboard area, use cut, copy and paste or right click for the editors just like a normal view. The difference being that clips saved in this view can be pasted by typing the hot keys shown to their left without activating the main clipboard window.

In the image above, the Letter heading clip can be pasted with Ctrl + A and the Signature Block clip can be pasted with Ctrl + B

Notes

1. After adding hot key clips, you must switch back to another view to activate them.
2. In some programs, hot keys which use Alt + a character can be unreliable.
3. Some hot keys can be unreliable if the Caps Lock is on.
4. Avoid allocating the same hot key that you use to activate the program.
5. Avoid allocating hot keys which you use in other programs. If you allocate a clip to Alt+E then Alt+E will paste that clip. It will no longer pull down the Edit menu in your word processor.
